About the Romans...

Our story
In 2015 the club was founded by a small team of committed individuals. The club pulled off a masterstroke and secured Tom Howley (British Army & Armed Forces Rugby League International) as Player-Head Coach for the first ever campaign.

The Romans ended up winning the West of England League competition in our inaugural season, along with the West of England Challenge Cup and finalists in the West of England Rugby League 9’s. The club also got through to the Semi-Final of the national Harry Jepson Trophy Competition going down to a very strong South West London Chargers side who now play in the Conference League South Competition.

The club now play at Corsham RU Club, Lacock Road, Corsham just outside Bath and have recently completed their second campaign in the West of England League, due to the league almost doubling in size since 2015 the decision was taken to split into two groups/pools. The Romans were placed the two pool against local rivals Bristol Sonics, Gloucestershire Warriors, Portsmouth Navy Seahawks and Oxford Cavaliers.
